How to make a mosquito trap at home. These traps are highly effective. They have the potential to kill of thousands of mosquitoes each night! You just need a few things to get started.
You’ll Need: A high-velocity fan - Fine mesh mosquito netting - 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol - Several heavy duty magnets
Directions: Cut a piece of the mosquito netting. Make sure it’s big enough to cover one side of the fan. Tuck the cord in close to the fan so it doesn’t get in the way.
Use your heavy duty magnets to fasten the netting onto one side of the fan. These should keep the netting in place. Dilute the rubbing alcohol with 50% water, then pour the mixture into a spray bottle. The water makes the solution less flammable and it works better to kill mosquitoes. Spray the netting evenly, without spraying the motor in the center of the fan.
Place a piece of white cardboard in front of the fan and spray some more of the solution onto this material. This will allow you to remove the netting and loosen the mosquito remains onto the board. When your netting is full, turn off the fan and remove the netting, allowing it to fall onto the white board. The mosquito parts should fall right off.
The alcohol mixture will disintegrate, so there’s no cleaning hassle! If you want, you can leave the mosquito remains out for another animal to enjoy.
